While learning to sew, Simplicity and McCalls sewing patterns were my patterns of choice. They were cheap and you could buy them at the local department store. Once I had the confidence to tackle a Vogue pattern I was hooked on the designer touches and started to pay attention to how the garmet looked on the inside and the outside.
